pnl(a) - a project that started in 1995 by Brandon Auger, whose recent series focuses on the collection and archiving of communication via radio transmissions, guard band interference, audio surveillance and stationary static from various sources such as half-duplex devices, analogue radio, cell tower disturbance and citizen / marine traffic bands. Stored on digital and analogue formats, the sounds were then aligned and manipulated by use of VCR tracking systems and formulized EQ patterns. The procedure resulted in audio laced with phase-cancellation, frequency dropouts, flanging, spectrum overloads, hisses and pops.

broken end points is the second publication of the above process.
