Giacomo Salis: percussion, objects. Paolo Sanna: percussion, silence, found objects.
Mastered by Simon Balestrazzi at Neurohabitat studio, Cagliari. Track 2 was recorded in Faenza and track 3 in Chianocco, both during “Humyth Tour” (October /November 2018).
Paolo Sanna- Giacomo Salis’ duo is a percussion duo devoted to sound experimentation, it examines sound, silence, noise and employs extended tecniques and prepared set. Free improvisation allows the duo to fathom the different possibilities offered by drums and percussions. The ultimate result of this approach is a general sense of balance. The percussion tradition of the free American and the post free European school, classical contemporary music, and popular music from around the world are the foundations of the duo’s sound research.
A totally absorbing album, I love how the subtleties and intricacies grab and hold your attention. Melodies and rhythms weave around drone and noise elements which themselves have great movement. Field recordings add tension, at times there's a mechanical feel yet each song also feels like an unfolding story that you are a part of. Andrulian
